The Threat

White tribalist racism is not new. What is new is a rancid ugly president who sees this strain in the American body politic and, as the con that he is, stokes it and provokes it to win the presidency with the help of Russia. Couple that with the speed of the Internet and it is a recipe for profound disaster.

Trump is without a doubt not blameless. His voice however stupid is heard by his adoring stupid racist base. The Proud Boys, the American Nazi Party, Storm Front, Aryan Nations and so many more think they have died and gone to heaven as their hate groups gain a foothold through Trump. Their ideology heretofore was on the fringe and their path to power a pipe dream. Their thought of becoming mainstream seemed out of reach.

 

American Nazi Lincoln Rockwell was assassinated by one of his own men in 1967 and George Wallace burned out in the American south. I thought it was the end of the extreme of extreme rightwing. Now it is hard to believe its a reality in contemporary politics. Amazing a phony slug like Cretan Trump is responsible for stoking the embers of American hate which never in reality totally burned out. Worse, white nationalism it is worldwide.
