Police Power

Police power does not mean taking a non violent man down, accusing him of a non violent crime, handcuffing him, placing your heavy knee on his neck until he suffocates to death.  Police power should mean defusing the matter taking into account that the man is accused of a non violent crime and unarmed to boot.  Police power means using the power that has been entrusted to you to equitably dispense justice no matter the race or the cultural reality of the alleged perpetrator.  Police power means arresting a person as non violently as possible and if probable cause tried, found guilty and then sentenced by a jury of his/her piers. 

The Minneapolis police did none of of those things but became judge, jury and executioner stepping and crushing a person's right to a fair trial with zero empathy, compassion and because the officers simply did not care enough to stop.
