To Err is Human -- Correction

I made an error in my article sent to the News, printed on Sunday, October 6 about Occupy Wall Street:
http://www.metrowestdailynews.com/opinions/letters_to_the_editor/x1155172219/Rosen-America-needs-the-Occupy-movement

The Constitutional Amendment I used in the opinion says the US must pay its bills BUT the Article is Article 14 Section 4 : I replied to my own opinion in the Metro West News and made the correction.

Why do I bother changing it? I don't know maybe HONESTY and TRUTH! 14th Amendment Section 4: "The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law ... shall not be questioned."

Within the ellipsis is a phrase set off by a comma. The Amendment was written after the Civil War and has a phrase "including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion."

But to me and it could be argued that this phrase is a phrase set off by a comma and a preposition (almost parenthetically) as a secondary phrase to the main sentence and meaning "the validity of the public debts of the US authorized by law shall not be questioned."

Of course the word "shall" is different from "will" which could be argued according to Oxford Dictionary -- WILL has been a stronger determination to do something than shall. On the other hand shall and will are used now interchangeably.

Just some points to ponder when the president's constitutionality to use the 14th Amendment re: the gravity of increasing the debt ceiling is concerned. If he does use that it WILL no doubt be argued wasting more taxpayer money in impeachment by the Republicons and tried in the Senate (where the president will NOT be convicted) or it will be sent directly to the Supremes. Either way it will hopefully set precedent for this hostage holding, destructive and idiotic debt ceiling! Oh happy days!
