We stand united and unbowed

I just viewed the moving tribute our president and our secretary of state gave to those who died serving us. President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton paid beautiful tribute to Ambassador Chris Stevens and the three others who served our country so bravely in the Middle East.

We ARE, I believe, all in this together and united as one. We all value our nation's gifts of civil libertarian freedoms and shun any attempts to divide us against our leadership, turn us against one another especially in times of trial and grief. Who of those who criticize the president could ably stand in his shoes? I believe few.

We cannot retire from the world's stage. Let us stand united, unbowed as a nation and hope for a better day when we can unite the world in the peace and freedom the US knows and that only mankind can bestow upon themselves.
