The
humanity of us was today struck down once again by a narrow 5/4
decision of the nation's highest court which ruled in favor of el
presidente's Muslim ban. I can only hope that this inhumane
wrongheaded, Dred Scott like in importance, decision does not lead to
more violence and not less. We can only hope that the rule of law
prevails unless and until those of us who fight against it and for human
rights finally win.
It took persons of color
hundreds of years to gain a semblance of the realization of their
humanity and it is still not won. Change comes, Howard Zinn always said,
from the bottom up not the top down. We cannot look to our leaders
ESPECIALLY now with Trump at the helm and think they will protect our
human and civil rights. These so called "conservatives" won't. Sad day
for so many no doubt! We WILL overcome!
